To us all towns are one, all men our kin.
Life's good comes not form others' gift, nor ill
Man's pains and pains' relief are from within.
Death's no new thing; nor do our bosoms thrill
When Joyous life seems like a luscious draught.
When grieved, we patient suffer; for, we deem
This much - praised life of ours a fragile raft
Borne down the waters of some mountain stream
That o'er huge boulders roaring seeks the plain
Tho' storms with lightnings' flash from darken'd skies
Descend, the raft goes on as fates ordain.
Thus have we seen in visions of the wise ! -
We marvel not at greatness of the great;
Still less despise we men of low estate.

One finds many similarities in todays Kung Fu and our North Indian Gatka when compared to the ancient hindu KalariPayattu:

In this chinese tapestry you see Buddhidharma, 2nd from left, teaching Kalari to Chinese monks.

I have just read the postings on "Tamils".

As I am born and brought up in Tamilnadu, studied Tamil medium since childhood, I could understand the pulse of the Tamils of India. But, here, the postings appear to be supporting LTTE with which Indians have different opinion.

Political issues become controversial depending upon the persons who deal, as they have their own persceptions and conceptions.

Indians have to deal all language speaking people as Indians only, as Americans in US are.

About the depict of the map of Cholas, historians have reservations and even Tamil scholars differ. Cholas no doubt conquered far south-east Asian countries, but, they did not annexe and rule.

In Sangam literature, there are references that three Tamil Kings went upto Himalayas and planted their royal insignia. Does it mean that they conquered upto Himalayas? (Refer to my paper posted on Aryans also).

K. V. Ramakrishna Rao.

You get interesting by the minute 'N.T. Ramarao'     How in the world does talking about Tamil origins, martial art and their culture add up to your above moronic statement??  After the pathetic cut and paste job on the aryan problem forum what is this suppose to be icing on the cake for you??

Gyadu is just trying to make people aware of Tamils as a WHOLE and I think its a good try on his part.

You don't need to insult Ramakrishna, Rajput. It is obvious that Gyadu (Jhangora for other name) did post some LTTE images and terminology and these can be polemic.

Said that, I do support Tamil self-determination, like that of Kashmiris or Assamites. But there's no need to disqualify: discussions must be brought by mean of reason.

Wasn't that 'ulrich von hutten' who posted the picture up?  All I see in gyadus post is on military personnel who looks like an Indian or Sri Lankan soldier and another guy smiling in...the rest are all maps etc.

Gyadu hasnt even mentioned anything about anything closely related to Rao's accusations.

PS. Who's jahngora or whoever?

The smiling guy is the leader of LTTE and the soldier looks a "Tiger" (that's their typical uniform - when they have them).

This guy is Velupillai Pirapaharan, "the national leader of Tamil Eelam", according to one of their sites.

That you aren't able to see it doesn't mean that it isn't there.

Jhangora/Gyadu is just banned forummer who is native to northern India but lives in Korea. Use the search feature if you want more.

Maju, what do you mean by tamil self-determination? In sri lanka, or India? Because i can garuntee you, tamilians in india have no interest in any self-determination. Countries (i would like to believe) are no longer drawn along the concept of "every ethinicity should be self-determining." I assume you mean sri lanka, because the discussion was about the LTTE, but i just want to make sure.

I support self-determination of all peoples everywhere. Self-determination doesn't mean auomatically independence it's just about the right to rule each own's destiny. Often a friendly mutually beneficial association (federation, confederation, other possibilities) can be a better choice.

I was implicitly thinking in Sri Lanka but it applies everywhere. It's just a principle, a democratic principle.

Dear friends,

I am not delighted at N. T. Rama Rao or M. G. Ramachandran or M. Karunanidhi or whoever other.

I want to be Indian besides Tamilian, Keralite, Telugu or otherwise.

However, the pro-LTTE or LTTE supporters / sympathisers through different forums (Forum hub, tamilaraychi group, Tamilnation etc) want to force Indian Tamils to follow their ideology, which cannot be accepted by Indians.

History / historical research on Tamils, Tamil culture/civilization/literature is different from politics or politicization of such factors.

One should make others clear what they stand for instead of passing unnecessary comments on others.

Sincerely yours,

K. V. Ramakrishna Rao.
