It's not Sobieski 111 but III and only mistake is that III should be in the middle.

I think Stanislaw Zolkiewski was one of the best cavalry commanders. Chodkiewicz also but Id put Zolkiewski in 1st place.

My list:1.Subedai

        5.Jan Sobielski III

Ghengis Khan at no 4?

There can be no better cavalry commander then him. He started with 13.000 horsemen and ended up conquring the world. Enough said.

Let's substitute tanks with horses, and I'd say best modern commander would be the fox himself, Romel.

As for old world cavalry, I would have to give it to Hannibal or Genghis. Hannibal would get my ultimate vote because although they ultimately defeated him, he had to constantly deal with politicians at home who were against him as well as the Romans.

Well he's better known for his clever use of 88's. Genius though. Patton anyone? A very good armour commander. Manstein wasnt a 'true' cavalry commander but brilliant nonetheless. Gueridan?
