Topic: Origin of the Scythians? Posted: 20-Sep-2005 at 23:14 |
This weird discussion has gone on for too long. Help us return to scholarly debates instead of lowering ourselves to the weakest link.

"Great Hunnic Empire" is a rather deluded pan-Nationalist who believes in not only the Turkish origins of the Scythians, but also of those of the Sumerians, Hittities and Etruscans...
Hey Hunnic.

Something is clearly lost in the translation, the web site you
posted states that the Scythians were descended from the Bulgars who
lived a thousand years after them !

Scythians are the modern day Afghan Tribe of Sakazai, who inhibit the
ancient Sakistan [ Southern Afghanistan ]. It's been proven by the
Afghan scholars.

Somebody has been feeding you nonsence..............
There have been many pastoral nomad groups who weren't turko-mongols
eg Sarmatians, Alans, Chionites...
Such evidence as there is doesn't suggest that any of the major groups amongst the Scythians spoke any Turco-Mongol language.

I have heard many stories about the Scythians and their origins. I have heard they came from Northern China, Mongolian, Khazakstan area, and the Middle East-Pakistan. Does anyone really know where they came from?
