Saudi King Fahd is laid to rest

The King's shrouded body was carried by relatives

King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, who died on Monday, has been buried after a funeral service in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The Saudi royal family and Muslim leaders from around the world gathered at Riyadh's grand mosque where the funeral prayers were said.

King Fahd's body arrived at the mosque by ambulance, draped in a brown robe.

After the prayers, the body was carried to a cemetery for burial in an unmarked grave, in keeping with Wahhabism, the kingdom's strict version of Islam.

Security has been beefed up across the capital where foreign dignitaries had gathered to pay their respects.

The country's top cleric, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah al-Sheikh, has called on all Saudis to pledge allegiance to the new king and his brother, Sultan bin Abdulaziz, who has been named Crown Prince

The Funeral

in keeping with Wahhabism, which guards against idolatry, he will have no tomb or engraved headstone, just a simple stone marking the spot where he lies.

"His grave will be like the grave of all Muslims... There is no difference between him and other Muslims," the Grand Mufti said.

Flags( just Saudi Flages) were not flown at half-mast because the green Saudi flag is inscribed with Islam's testament of faith and lowering it would be considered blasphemous.

Vocal expressions of grief had been banned and shops, restaurants and ministries in the desert kingdom remained open, but correspondents say the mood among the populace is very sombre.

the late King's Body was in a brown " Bisht" which is the Arabic tradition that the died person's body to be washed and coverd with a white sheets and then covered with his own "Bisht"

the Bisht is what he wore, i mean his own bisht which he used to wear, like him wearing a bisht. in this picture

like this( the pictue of the king above) is what his body was covered with.

the Prayer of the Dead ( Salat Al Mayt)

the picture above of different people but the king's was exactly the same.

the Grand Mufti is the same also. ( the man in the middel with the Black Bisht)

King's  Grave,  as simple and normal with no signs as any other graves in most of Arabian peninsula.

this the way Arabs from Arabian Peninsula have their funeral and  buried when the die. from king to a normal worker all buried the same way.

ok these are pictures from the funeral.

Algerian president and prince Mushal ( king's brother)

yemini and syrian presidents

Sultan of Oman arriving

Shiekh Khalifa of UAE and Sheikh Sultan of Emirate of Sharjah.

"Sinsi" means sneaky. I agree with erci.

King Fahd and his dynasty was a disaster for the people of Saudi Arabia. They were no different from hte egoist leaders, Taleban and even Saddam, but because their country is full of easily gained petrol, their population werent totally starving when he died.

huh!!

your Afgan friend doesn't even know who was that, its clear since his story specially the "wives" thing is not believable, iam not saying that some princes are not doing these stuff iam saying he propably doesn't know what he is saying and just make things up,

if you said a prince came and gambled and lost millions then went to his wing with sex escorts ok its believable and possible, but having a group sex ,his "Wives" having group sex too !!  this is too much.

if that is a ture story and your friend is honest and trusted then there are more possibility that those women are not even relative and all were sex escorts. but then i may be wrong it is also a possibility that your afghan friend asked them who were they and knew their names and knew that they are Wives since he almost had sex with them .

and by idiots you mean Arabs or Saudi royal family?

I mean the Royal Family, not the Arabs as a whole.  As for my friends story, he stuck with it.  I was just as shocked when I heard it but at the same time, I knew it shouldnt have really surprised me.  They have oodles of money, they don't pay taxes, and they can have as many wives as they want.  An anthropology professor once told me a story about an Arab Chief who had over 60 wives, over 100 children.  His most recent wife was only 15 years old.  The problem was, he wasnt able to produce any children.  He went to the doctor and asked him why he can't have any more kids, the kicker was, he was nearing 80.

well sorry to tell you this but to me your and your friend's stories are nonsense.

may be the type of people who like making exotic Stories out from their own fantacy.

i exactly mean the "wives" thing who are having group sex and an Arab can marry as many wives as he can. that is just pure ignorance no more no less.

Ill should be glad when all those wahabees(wannabes?) are dead! My father went to Mekka last year and told me what he saw in there, how they want to destroy all the monuments build by the Ottomans and the richness of the hole wahabi family and the poorness of the local people...
