Philip IV was King of Spain from 1621 to 1665.
He was a patron of the arts. He was a patron of the painter Velasquez. Velasquez was Philip's court painter.
Philip IV also employed the Flemish painter Rubens.
One portrait of Philip IV by Velazquez is Philip IV of Spain in Brown and Silver. Velazquez also did portraits of Queen Mariana and the Infanta Margarita.
