I just found this medallion.  You can see the front side; the back side is exactly the same but with a Bible. I would like to figure out where this came from, it should be a real challenge.  Thanks!

Check with your local Masonic Lodge. I remember kids wearing Knights of Pythius jackets back in the early 60s. From the little bit you've showed us, I'm wondering if it was tied to some scholastic award that the Masons and other fraternal orders presented to selected members of the local High School graduating class.
