Here in the states drinking and driving has become, finally, a no do for the general public.
In the 60's and 70's, diners were open all night on the weekends. When the band I worked with was done playing, we would stop at the diner on the way home, 2-3 am. The diners were almost always packed.
No longer. The Roadhouses are gone, bar bands are gone, and the diners usually close at 11pm.
Folks are doing other things now. They also have to watch out for the cop car sitting around the corner at closing time.
