Among the weirdest weapons of the Renaissance are the swords, axes, maces and even shields with built-in pistols. This particular example, a morning star and three-bareled pistol, is known as Henry VIII's Walking Staff. At night the king would walk through London to check up on the city's watchmen. The blade of this halberd conceals a wheel-lock musket barrel. After putting a bullet into the enemy, you could close in for the kill without having to change weapons

The Belgian revolver i posted looks almost identical to Squall's gun. Here's another version with a longer blade:

It's a long time since i've played FF, but i remember Squall Leonhart and his duel with Seifer. Coincidentally, i found this photo of a pistol bayonet remarkably similar to Seifer's weapon

I might even still have that old PS1 game as i hate throwing stuff away. If i ever find it i'll see if i can complete it this time
