It makes sense demographically, sort of. The vast majority of China's
population are around 30 - 50 years old or thereabouts - the generation
born during the 1960s and 1970s population boom. Older generations
represents a very small proportion of the population due to poor health
care, famines, war, and other crises in times gone by. China's death rate is actually quite low by "Third World" standards.
