We seem to be getting alot more spammers on AE as of recently. So I was wondering what we should do to prevent this?

I would have proposed death penalty but the religious left which is majoritary on this forum is going to refuse so really there is little else to do than being on the look out and asking members to signal any spaming.

Are we talking about bots or new members that spam with controversial topics? If we're talking about persons, a good policy is to keep new member posts invicible for further examination and then published.

Flip, they are talking about an increase in commercial spammers.  They might be bots, but what I've seen are people who join just to put up 2-3 posts selling clothes, phones etc.

It just happens to coincide with a spell of posts from clones of recently banned members.  Not to worry, the mod squad is on top of it.
