I saw a Hun carpet, there was a Griffon(ı am sure that it was a griffon, not eagle or lion!) killing a black goat.

İn the noghai flag, there also a griffon.Somebody think that it is dragon, but ı think it looks like griffon much.I am not sure but ı think it is.

And in the flag of Seljuks, there is an eagle. But look at it carefully,is it really eagle?I dont think so...

Wasn't griffon used first by Europeans?

What's a griffon?  That animal on the Nogay Flag that looks like a dog with wings?
For Turks, the homeland isn't Turkey, nor yet Turkistan. Their country is a vast, eternal land: Turan!

just did a bit of poking around.

I think these things are saka/scythian or eastern, (though they also appear in minion art). found this website

edit: this website would answer you questions on their origins, it states saka

it probably is, what the date on the carpet?

half/half animal or animals/men is pretty common anyway.

It has a kanine or feline body, with a head that looks like a cross between an eagle (with beak) and a lion. It also has angel like wings.

or was it more european?
