Topic: Griffon and Turks? Posted: 26-Oct-2006 at 15:16 |
I saw a Hun carpet, there was a Griffon(ı am sure that it was a griffon, not eagle or lion!) killing a black goat.
İn the noghai flag, there also a griffon.Somebody think that it is dragon, but ı think it looks like griffon much.I am not sure but ı think it is.
And in the flag of Seljuks, there is an eagle. But look at it carefully,is it really eagle?I dont think so...
Wasn't griffon used first by Europeans?

Griffons are evident in Babylon, also in Persepolis.

What's a griffon? That animal on the Nogay Flag that looks like a dog with wings?

For Turks, the homeland isn't Turkey, nor yet Turkistan. Their country is a vast, eternal land: Turan!

It has a kanine or feline body, with a head that looks like a cross between an eagle (with beak) and a lion. It also has angel like wings.

İt was from Asia Hun Empire.I don't know this empire's name in English, may be Xiong-Nu
Well,ı am expressing the picture from my 10th class General Turk History book:
A white Griffon(there are blue blots on it's wings, wings are Eagle Wings),and have a lion body with a eagle head. But also have two black horns.
It is attacking a very big Black Goat.Goat has a white head.
