I do. There are some people that believe Europe was very primitive in the past, but the true was the "barbarians" made some remarkable advances by themselves. Think in Stoneage, and in the metal workings of those times as well.
Now, the first European civilization it was Crete, which is not precesely a recent civilization. Tartessos in Spain is also quite old, at least contemporary to King Solomon.
