Greetings everyone

I have been interested in military history since the age of 8. I am 40 now and the more I study this fascinating subject, the more I realize how much more I need to know! By the way, has anyone here besides myself been called a warmonger, or anti peace, or anything of that nature?

As for this warmonger thing, I am not sure if anyone here really qualifies ... The person that comes to my mind is Genghis, but I am not sure if he thinks he's one. I am not that sure about that either. But he is definitely not a pacificist.

I'm a lover of European History, though I am still a high school student. I'm here to interact with people with the same interest, but I am also looking at different history forums in preparation of creating my own. I think I will enjoy myself here

    Greetings from the Pine Barrens-

I have been hanging around for a few weeks, so it's about time I introduce myself-

I am interested in all histories, however my degrees are in ceramics and history of ceramics.

Did my undergrad at the then Phila. College of Art[now University of the Arts]

My pet interest is the pre history of the americas and related.

I teach emotionaly and behavioraly challenged teens at a local alternative school.  Could explain why I feel comfortable here.

BTW- george ohr is not my real name, but it's an interesting google.                           see photo post

Hi all,

I can't remember how i stumbled on this site, but after a few days of perusing the threads, i must say its a pretty dope place to procrastinate.

For those that care, im a canadian grad student whose primary areas of interest are things like muslim history, linguistics, ethnography, anthropology, evolutionary psychology and religion. I also love persian traditional music, if that means anything to anyone here.

I've been conducting some research on iranian weblogging, which might interest some of you: www.iranblogproject.squarespace.com

BTW, it seems im one of the only ethnic jews on this forum, so, while im not zionist, this should make things interesting ; )

Two of my favourite relevant books are Guns, Germs and Steel, and the Selfish Gene.

I'm a critic of the nation-state system in general, and dont assume liberalism to be the be-all-end-all of social systems. (I just felt like throwing some big words in there.)

I'll be travelling to Berlin and (hopefully) Istanbul this summer, so if any of you have anything to share with me about those cities (especially Istanbul, and especially places to eat!) i'd be really grateful. =)

Looking forward to some heated discussion!

-halevi
