Women's History - March 8th
TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
1857 - Today, women workers in New York City strike for higher wages, shorter hours, and better working conditions. In commemoration of same, International Womens Day has since been celebrated on March 8th all around the world. Fifty years later on the same day (March 8, 1908) thousands of women marched again, demanding better pay, abolishment of child labor, better conditions, voting rights, etc. Women are still fighting for equal rights and the same benefits afforded to men, and hopefully will keep on fighting until same has been accomplished!
