I personally doubt it is Persian if this is the work of Ottoman foot soldiers and AFAIK Persian was a language of culture for Ottoman elites. If it is Persian then maybe it was carried out by Ottoman officers.
My friend replied - he cannot make any sense out of it, here is his reponse, lol.
"..... jan salam...
agha rastesh aslan nemitonam bekhonam chi hastesh! vali chizi ke malom hastesh ye mosht adame bifarhang bardashtan ba kilid ya chize tizi naghashi ro kharabesh kardan ! "
"To tell you the truth, i can't make out what it is! the only thing I do know, however, is that it was done by a bunch of uncultured rifraf with keys or some other sharp object."

I agree with Cyrus, it could be Persian. I can read 2 words, hopfully not a mistake. 1- BAZ HAM = again; 2- Hassan = an arabic male name.

I asked because the region of the monastery is near Albania and there are 2 raids of "Turk-Albanians" (muslim Albanians) recorded. Also most of the muslim states used arabic as premier writing ..so i just wonder. I would also like to know what was the alphabets used by Albanians before they settle to latin.

He wants to know what the graffiti says because the damage as well as the graffiti dates to Osman invsions and are also therefore historical.
