Hi Gang:

September is known in Mexico as the Month of the Fatherland by the important dates that we celebrate during this month:

September 13, 1847 Heroic Defense of the Castle of Chapultepec by the Cadets of the Militar Academy and the Naval Bataillon of San Blas.

September 15 and 16, 1810: The War of Independence started and was leaded ny the Father Miguel Hidalgo. Also known as the Father of the Independence.

September 15th is marked by all the Central American nations also by their independence (  of course, once we defeated the spaniards was easy for them to say: we part of the Mexican Empire  and we are independent from Spain ).

September 15th itīs also celebrated in Philipines.

September 30, 1821: Mexico officially achieved his independence from Spain.
