You can't really see his face, so the appearance is all that you can go by, which as you mentioned is fooling.

He's a greek patriot circa 1788–1823, "Markos Botsaris" Exiled from his native Epirus in 1803, he joined Ali Pasha in 1820 and later was prominent in the Greek War of Independence, notably in the defense of Mesolóngion (1822–23) and at Karpenísion, where he defeated the Turks with a handful of men but died in battle.

Who care where he origininated. Its his actions that count. Did he do anything for Albania? NO!! I think that should settle these worthless dipsutes.

Don't forget that during those times, prominent military or administrative figures were shifted where necessary. And due to the similarity of names in general regions and their mispronounciation by different peoples, we are not exactly sure for the precise location of origin of quite a few people.

Markos Botsaris was indeed in the army of Ali Pasha, but many Greek military leaders sprung off from the ranks of the Turkish army or navy, as well as from other countries' armies too. This is because the Turkish army was recruiting by force or incentive as many men they could.
