I just joined the forum. I'm an American, fifteen years-plus resident in China. I'm looking forward to getting into some discussions here. Presently, I'm becoming interested in late-Roman and Byzantine history, since I intend to visit Ravenna later this year. As I've been brushing up my Italian, I have also reawakened an old interest in Giovanni Gentile and, to a lesser extent, Croce.
