I'm looking for some suggestions of books, letters, websites or other sources you might know which can tell me how rural people saw London during the earlier part of the Industrial Revolution.

So there are all these families migrating into London from villages in the hope of finding work there. How did their families back home see their decision? How did those who had never been to a metropolis imagine cities and the living & working conditions there to be?
