Okay this is great and all but instead of 3d printing ancient artifacts and buildings, wouldn't it be better properly preserve these buildings. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20130924-the-3d-way-to-preserve-history - http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20130924-the-3d-way-to-preserve-history This seems like a great technology but I would rather have our government (Plus world governments) and people protect the real thing. Especially with what happened to the giant buddhas in Afghanistan a few years ago and most recently in Syria. These sites require PROTECTION from all of us. Appreciate 3d printing but this is by no way a way to protect history.

The obvious remains....just so.
So the most egregious offenders need to be reminded...ISIS; and other fundo wacko Islamist extremists and terrorists, for example. And the nation states that sponsor them. Syria, a proxy of Iran, does not give a rats ass if centuries old Christian churches and their worshipers are destroyed. Which means neither does Iran or any of its proxy thugs But that is a waste of time as they will ignore it. Solution? Elimination of the aforementioned.
