the answer is obvious if your assuming this topic hasn't been beat to death elsewhere.

In his known historical environment and or depending on the nature of the animal society and alpha level competition in that environment...a lion can be supreme...or a Siberian tiger...or a grizzly...or a polar bear....a badger or a wolverine.

There is no absolutely correct answer...except for my original response.
