Greetings everyone,

Does anyone know what is the correct pronunciation of "Subutai" and "Baghatur" in Middle Mongolian (spoken at the time of the Empire) and modern Mongolian? I am mostly interested in the Middle Mongolian pronunciation.

Also, what do you think is the most accurate Latin transcription? I've seen so many: Subutai, Subotai, Subetei, Subetai, Tsubotai, Tsubodai, Tsubetei, Tsubatai and Baghatur, Ba'atur,  Bagatur, Baghadur, Bahadur, Batur, Baatar.

Thank you,

Fox

I believe his name in middle Mongolian might be Sube'edei.

What a handsome figure of a dragon. No wonder I fall madly in love with the Alani Dragon now, the avatar, it's a gorgeous dragon picture.
