There had been four Books of Kings in the Old Testament of the Catholic Bible.
Now there are 1Samuel and 2Samuel and 1Kings and 2Kings.
Why was the change made? Which is correct to use: 2Kings or IIKings?

The Hebrew/Jewish/Masoretic has 24 books of OT/VT in which Samuel and Kings are 2 sep books.

Not sure what the Septuagint/lxx has?

The Vulgate OT is abit later, maybe based on the Sept/lxx.

Does it really matter much?

The gentile protestant bible (OT/VT & NT) has 66 books, recalling 666.

KJV has it much the same....2 each.

Sept is also 1-2 Kings and 1-2 Samuel.
