When Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. was born in 1915, his grandfather, John Fitzgerald, Mayor of Boston, told the news: "This child is the future President of the nation."
Joseph P. Kennedy was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1940.
He planned to run for Massachusetts' 11th congressional district in 1946.
Suppose Joseph Patrick did not die in a naval air explosion in 1944.
How effective would he be as a politician?

Judging by his education, his personal and family ambitions, and the examples from the rest of his family - probably very.
