In 1869 Emperor Francis Joseph I of Austria travelled outside continental Europe to attend the opening of the Suez Canal.
Suppose Francis Joseph is assassinated in Egypt. What happens then?

Francis Joseph's only son would become Emperor Rudolph I of Austria.
Rudolph would be a minor. A regency would be established.
Rudolph's uncle, Archduke Karl Ludwig could be a regent.
