Has everyone already read the Flashman series - by George MacDonald Fraser?

The life and times of a randy Victorian sexist, bigoted coward. Some of the funniest historical fiction on the face of the planet. None of it is politically correct - in fact - exactly the opposite - which is well in keeping with Harry Flashman's world view.

It is, historically, very well grounded, and (if quite off color) very, very funny.
