Today 1204 during reign of tsar Kaloyan Bulgaria for last time "became Catholic country". Cardinal Leo arrived from Rome and Basil I is ordained for a Primate of Bulgaria. Thus Bulgaria stayed the only orthodox country which ever has had a Primate. The title of tsar Kaloyan is replaced with "rex"
 

On this date but 1014 after the death of tsar Samuel, his son tsar Gavrail-Radomir took the throne. He continued his father's fight against Basil II. A year later Gavrail Radomir is killed by his cousin Ivan Vladislav who became next tsar.
