The greatest conqueror in Chinese history vs. the greatest conqueror in world history.  Tang Emperor would have put up a good fight for sure.

Tang Taizong himself has 3/4 Xianbei blood(Turk-Mongol), his army wasn't Chinese but Turks

There are other ways of stating this without offending the author.  Ease up a little my friend.

Depends how you want to compare them. One was a Machiavellian Emperor of a civilisation willing to use murder and warfare to gain power, but also understanding of good governance and the need for his people to prosper. The other was brutal pirate who's only motive in life was to gain personal wealth and power and killed 50 million people as nothing more than fodder along the way.

If you are talking who was the best pure military fighter, Genghis, if you are talking who was the best conquer, conquering implies more than pure slaughter, but some kind of organised scheme of conquest and rule, it was Tang.

Stupidity got us into this mess, why can't it get us out?

Early Tang army still largely consisted of native Han Chinese (even cavalry units, but of course they imitated some Turkic fighting ways).  Read about "Su Dinfang" General and his expeditions.  Only later part of the Tang Dynasty did they somehow integrate or rely more on foreign mercenaries (esp. Uygurs, Tibetans, Karluks, Persians, etc.)

What exactly is the scenario here? If its Mongol empire in 1210 vs Tang Empire in say 630, then the Tang probably had an advantage in terms of resources. Li Shimin did crush the Xue Yantuo khanate in 646, which at the time had a territory that roughly overlapped with the Mongol Empire in 1210 and had a comparable sized army(standing at around 200,000).
Below is the map of the Eastern Turkish Khanate which the Tang faced, the Xue Yantuo at its height was roughly the same size.

Compared to the Mongol Empire in 1206, they were around the same size:

The Mongols on the other hand overan a fragmented China divided in the north between the Jin and Xia and Song in the South. A full scale war with the Tang would most likely end like most other wars between nomads and China, a slow war of attrition that ends in the breakup of the nomadic kingdom from internal collapse.

Hey I am doing a history assignment on Genghis Khan or actually his brother Temüge. I can't find any historical sources. I know that Temüge wrote down alot of things about Genghis and his story. Does anybody know anything? Where to find sources and maybe what Temuge wrote himself. Could really use some help :)
