In this alternative history the White Army and their European puppetmasters retake Leningrad and crush the revolution although the Tsar and his family are killed. The reactionaries' victory brings about vicious reprisals with brutal pogroms against the Jews and the mass-execution of workers suspected of Bolshevism. Who would rule White Russia? What political system would be put in place? Would Russia still be able to industrialise or remain a backward third-world country exploited for its natural resources? Would the White leaders create a unified government or become squabbling warlords? ------------- Me Grimlock not nice Dino! Me bash brains! |

In my view White Russia would be even worse than the USSR: failing to collectivise farms would lead to famine as the peasants hoarded their grain. The massacre of workers would deprive the regime of skilled technologially-minded people (preventing industrialisation) and the expulsion of intellectuals (many of whom would become Bolsheviks) would set back education centuries. You can forget about a democracy movement: Yeltsin and Gorbachev would have died in Siberia. Without an urban, educated class Russia would be vulnerable to foreign invasion while the power-hungry ex-generals would either carve out their own empires or try to set up dictatorships funded by western countries. Russia would either become the European Afghanistan or be conquered by an increasingly aggressive Hitler. Like the Ukrainians in 1939 Poland, the White Russian peasants would welcome their Nazi oppressors for their mutual hatred of Jews and desire for order and stability after 20 years of war ------------- Me Grimlock not nice Dino! Life would be very hard for the Jews. Under the tsar antisemitism was state-policy: pogroms were frequently inflicted on the Jews to divert popular anger away from Russia's poor living standards ------------- Me Grimlock not nice Dino! Me bash brains! |

New militaristic state would have been established on east.Ideology exchanged with militarism:Byzantine two headed eagle will rise over the world.Somehow, someone imported civil war in Russia,using Lenin!This was clean example that imported civil wars have been always unpredictable as weather manipulation:You do not know will it rain or storm after manipulation!

Perhaps White Russia would side with the Nazis in WW2. Both wanted to carve up Eastern Europe and (unlike the USSR) a Russia without communism would have been backward and unable to fight the war singlehanded as industrialisation would never have happened ------------- Me Grimlock not nice Dino! | Will remind You,Nick,they were alliance once.Poland was separated during this alliance.Both Stalin and Adolf,have been admired one another.What did really happen between them and war start?Maybe I miss details inside some greatest international screenplay,have called WW2?In the same time both countries were somehow developed in super powers that would have veiled evil inside this dark periods. |

This is completely different. Hitler only allied with Stalin because he knew Poland was strong enough to resist the Nazi invaders. Once the alliance had served its purpose Hitler was quick to betray Stalin. In this alternative history Russia and Germany have a common elitist antisemitic ideology. Unlike the USSR White Russia has little industry, lacks a popular Stalin-type leader (only autocratic tsars and corrupt politicians) and would quickly fall to the Nazi blitzkrieg ------------- Me Grimlock not nice Dino! If you use elimination process will see that human ethnic cleanse left behind so irrational that on the end this one was all against one and one was everyone of those all!Hitler had attacked Russia Stalin waited till millions lost lives?Why?Hitler attacked on all fronts without military logic,war was with predicted end from the beginning!USA waited till major human cleanse had finished.What's the point?Now 60 years after more than 7 billion people on earth's soil everyone consider other one life is sufficient cause because of it someones life is not "good" and prosperous!  |
