Up 2- on the Blue Jackets. Is it any wonder? A name like that? Those playoff newbs should be happy just to be there. |

You have no idea how excited I am! But unline Detroit, the Rangers are playing against a real team that's supposed to have a huge offensive upside and they aren't doin jack! Rangers will still take the series after playing flat for one game. Sharks are having a tough time getting by Anaheim. Vancouver made it into the next round. Wings are doing what we all expected them to do. Stanley's road leads to the Wizard of Oz.

Tonight is a test for the Rangers. The Caps got a taste of blood, they are a offensive power house in my opinion, and their rookie goaltender can stand on his head! Rangers have no real offense. It's Lundqvist who keeps us in the game! He's been getting over 30 shots to him, our D while good isn't great. I look at our blueline and the defensive pairs just look lopsided, no real shut down pair. And Torts is probably right in doing that since I'd never trust lets say Redden and Mara. While good in certain ways, they would not be able to cover each other.
So we'll see what happens tonight. Staal seems to up his game against Ovechkin when he's on the ice, which is amazing for such a young defenseman and even if we lose the series, atleast we know we have a buildable future. ------------- "A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government." Rangers passed the test so far S&D. How they did so is hard to figure until you take one magnificent player into the equation; and not I'm not talking about Ovechkin. King Henrik is magnificent. He stood on his head, squared off and stopped practically every pot shot slapped his way. Impressive and fun to watch a goaltender playing like that. As for the rest of the Rangers, well, let's just say that they are winning and ahead in the series. Washington was all over them but the score doesn't reflect that.

Oi! Has anyone forgot bout the Flames and Blackhawks? 2-2; GO FLAMES GO! Calgary Flames FTW! idk bout the Flames series, it will be a tough one from now. I can cee a game 7. I am currently watching game 6 of the Rangers of Capitals. Ovechkin made a sexy goal, since he is the worlds best player. Iggy is also the top 5 in the world. Iggy will hopfully be team Canada's Captain in 2010 in Vancouver.

I am saddened by the loss of the Flames, I have no more need to watch the NHL, oh well. io can now watch the World Hockey tourney and watch Canada take the gold, even though I worry bout Russia and Sweden. Two great team out of NA.

What's with San Jose? Thornton played like he was on fire some of the time and, at other moments, like he was in need of a pillow and blanket.

Strange happenings. A night where the Rangers played a good game only to succumb to an aging vet. Note to Tortorella, when you need a goal in the series clincher how about firing more than one shot on net in the third! Also, it's called pulling the goalie for a reason. You're suppose to do just that. After turning the channel briefly to Sportscenter I was suprised to find out what lay in store when I turned back to the Devils-Hurricanes game. Unbelievable! Down with a couple minutes to go in game seven, Carolina pulls two goals out of their collective rears thus completing their little game of Rippley's believe it or not. Brodeur will have a long summer.

lol I think I'll continue to follow hockey. But it was depressing seeing the season end for the Rangers.... Let's see what the offseason brings us down the road I guess. It was a bit disappointing to see the Rangers go down especially after such a good effort in game 7. I think when it comes down to it though, King Henrik got knocked off his throne. I really think he could have played better. It should be very entertaining to watch Caps vs Pens though. As far as the Flames and Chicago go, I was not surprised at all to see the Blackhawks win. Same goes for Sharks and Ducks. The Ducks team right now is a team built for the play offs and although the Sharks had a decent offense their defense was not all that impressive. The biggest surprise for me was Carolina, especially since they were losing 3, 2 with two minutes left in the 3rd. I was prepared to see the Bruins playing against the Pens but was very pleasantly surprised to see Carolina send Jersey packing. |

Good to hear you're following the sport John. There IS NOT a better sport out there! And it sounds like you're girl is awesome(can't go wrong with Hockey fans!), don't let her go!
Some Rangers news, Naslund has hung up the skates. So we now have another 4mil in cap space to use. And with that it's without a doubt going to go to waste since Glen Sathers in charge. Can't wait to see what garbage we pick up...
The Pens-Caps game was pretty fun to watch. Ovechkin had a hat trick, and I believe Sidney too. It really is a battle between the two. DUCKS BITE! Wings will need to come out flying instead of sit around till the third period. The Ducks were tired by the last twenty minutes but the ref saved their ass. Quick call that killed a Detroit goal in the last minute makes you want to buy a new TV.   How about Pronger and the rest of the sissy savages trying to fight after the game was over? They knew they were out played but still acted like Neanderthals. Can't wait for the next game (and better to watch the game at a bar or it'll be time for more shopping at Best Buy). ------------- |

lol yeah I saw that Hossa goal. the ref didn't even blow the whistle yet, they ruled that he was just in the motion of it so it was a no goal. I think the wings will come back though, they aren't playing their game right now.

Their playing Anaheims's game. Give the Ducks credit, for a bunch of thugs they sure do plug up the middle. Still, Babcock teams are persistent. Time to play for the full 60 minutes. Then break Getlaf's stick and shove it up Pronger's donger as Franzen lights it up. Heck, he's been about the only player to do so. Need more Datsyuk and all the other guys. Love his grit thoughl. For a smaller dude he sure get's under duck skin. Plucked Duck! ------------- |

| Say what you want about the Ducks but the simple truth is they are winning the series 2-1 against the defending Stanley Cup champs, and although we knew from the start that San Jose wouldn't get far, they were able to knock them out pretty easily. I am still fairly confident that the final will be between the Ducks and either Bruins or Caps. |

Great game last night. Wings played like they were supposed to and the
final score rang loud, 6-3. Ozzy did let one slide much too soon but
after that the Ducks looked wounded. Franzen did light it up, so did
Hossa, Samuelson and Zetterberg. Next game will be Datsyuk's turn. Are
the Ducks running out of luck?

New series, same routine. Next! If one shift doesn't do it the next one will. That's how it is when you are part of a machine. Another consistent effort from the masters of hockey. Sure, it took the Wings a collective ten minutes to get used to their latest foe. Check the tires and adjust the steering wheel. That's enough time to sit in the lobby while the machine get's a brief oil change too. Well oiled, with a change in speed and power, get ready for a revamped outlook on this series. The Hawks are no Ducks. They skate better and are much faster. They are young and restless. But like any youth at the wheel, even in hockey, they need to gain experience. Who better to teach them then Detroit? Driving school is now in session and after the next three games the Hawks will have learned a valuable lesson and may have even earned a permit to hit the road. ------------- |

Now that the Finals are here there is much to say. The two best teams from their respective conferences are in. That's great! It's also a repeat of last year in more ways than one so far. First off my chest, time to get the complaints out. Hockey is a grueling sport. Whoever scheduled back-to-back games must never have played at the professional level, and four games in six days is another mistake. Yet the players play on. The best part, despite the schedule, is that both teams are displaying action packed fun and emotion. How about the scrum at the end of game two last night? Malkin taking on Zetterberg! You may want to know that instigator penalties at the last five minutes of any game, which it was, are automatic game suspensions. Yet in today's papers the NHL rescinded that part of the rule book. Wonder why? Could it be that Malkin is too high profile for judegment? Though they played with gusto and had fresher legs the Penguins still have a hard time getting past Ozzie. I love it too! Pittsburgh, be careful what you ask for! Who have been the heroes so far? The Octopus, Osgood, the walls at the Joe, and a youngster named Abdelkader (who has more goals than Malkin and Crosby combined). Most importantly Detroit plays the game as a team, by rolling four lines and getting productivity from all kinds of sources. They swarm on defense as a team so the likes of Pens dynamic duo have no room to move. A repeat is in the works in more ways than one. Same teams as last year. Same stituation as last year. They did. One of their better games. Home crowd and and too many men one ice are some of their fringe benefits too. Wings need to play a bit tougher and with more intensity, so as not to give Pit any fleeting moments of fancy.

Alright Emperor Barbarossa! Good to have you join in on the fun. Before you get too comfortable we've got more games to play. Sure is exciting to watch. Detroit, get off you rumps! Scratch Drapes, Leino then get Kader and Pav back in there. Red Wing defense is playing a game that may work with the likes of Columbus but not Pittsburgh (and not very well against Anaheim or Chicago either). Stop the cute little passes that tend to get intercepted in your own zone. Power the puck out past the blue line. Better safe than sorry. Stuart and Kronwall - mistakes will cost your team. That's more like it. A complete game, if you like the winged wheel that is. Where have we seen a reaction like this before? Determined desperation with class! We also saw major meltdowns too. Ah yes, from the likes of Anaheim, Chicago and now Pittsburgh. Great 5-0 victory for Detroit. Now onto Melon Arena to lift another cup.
