The title is self evident what sort of weapons would it have? what kind of armor? what kind of propulsion? how would it effect history would it save the empire? assuming they could the making of it keep it a secret like they did greek fire lets discuss-------------

I would guess a steam tank would be too expensive and probably decommissioned.

If they couldn't afford a massive cannon they couldn't afford a steam tank. If they did build it they would probably end up having it used against them in a civil war.
They were rotten by the last century, and were goners steam tank or not. ------------- |

...you know, guys, this is in historical amusement for a reason! I think it would be a laugh if they developed one - their secret weapon in 1453. Mehmet is just about to tell Urban to blast down the walls with his vast cannon...the doors to the city tumble open, and steam tanks come out...that is just...legendary! ------------- |
