Ben - borrow a Lotherington from the history department (they won't mind) and read up on the section there: Lotherington has a whole section on the new order of Spain from 1479! Generally just go in there and look - most reputable books that cover the early modern period and/or renaissance will have something on the period. I think that's an excellent idea, however; the reconquestia, inquisiton and unification of Spain is an incredibly complex area of history and it's much better to get a background before starting next year. I have to because I'm doing 4 A2s and 2 extension award courses.
