I want to generally divide modern Balkan history in historical periods, for my better understanding.I have a plan in my mind:

Rise of Balkan Nationalism and the emergence of Balkan Nation-States:18th century-1878 ( Berlin Summit and Oficial Recognition of Romania,Serbia and the emergence of  the autonomous principality of Bulgaria)

The peak of  the Balkan Nation-States' expansionism :1878-1918

The interwar period:1918-1939

The Cold War period:1945-1989

Any other propositions or corrections?

I'd say some Balkan states' expansionism peaked after 1918 when the Austro-Hungary was disbanded.

The Balkan wars from 1991-present day. The split up of Yugoslavia and ethnic conflict for a state.
