This is the place where we post historical anniversaries of important events. Let us start this off with something very important. On October the fourteenth, 1066, William of Normandy won the Battle of Hastings against Harold Godwinnson. Today marks the 940th year that has passed since the event, and fanboys of the Anglo-Saxons are still weeping.

October 25- Anniversary of the Famous Battle of Balaclava.
During this battle, the disastrous Charge of the Light Brigade occured. Also, let us not forget the brave defense of the town by the 93rd Highlanders in their famous Thin Red Line. Also, the Charge of the Heavy Brigade occured.

From the poem The Light Brigade:
"Half a league half a league
  Half a league onward
All in the valley of Death
  Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade
Charge for the guns' he said
Into the valley of Death
  Rode the six hundred."
