All Empires would like to announce a new project.

At the moment, AE is a general http://www.allempires.com/forum/default.asp - history discussion forum (and probably the net's most popular and liveliest), AE has a http://www.allempires.com/ - main site that contains a large and wide-ranging collection of history essays, and AE publishes a monthly http://www.allempires.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=13840&FID=5&PR=3 - magazine with arcticles on all aspects of world history, contributed exclusively by AE members.

In addition to that, AE could serve as a comprehensive history portal, listing a large number of quality historical websites, linking up to them, and hopefully exchanging links with such sites.

Being a gateway to other history sites, would not only provide a valuable collection of resources for existing members, but also attract new visitors, that could either use AE's existing historical data base or could contribute to Forum, Main Site and Magazine.

In order to compile such a comprehensive list, we would like to ask all AE members to help.

Please place your links into the categorised threads, which are roughly identical with the existing forum categories. As this is an ongoing project, there's no great hurry. Every time you find a good site, simply post the link into the appropriate thread. If you already have a good collection of links in your personal data base, please share it with us.

In order to make the editing of the links easier, please stick to the following rules:

  1. Please post your link to a history website, including primary sources, with a short description (20-30 words), including its exact contents, what it offers in addition (Multi-media etc.) and a brief comment.

  2. Please note that the content of web-sites must agree with AE's policy on nationalism, racism, sexism etc. (see http://www.allempires.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=6512 - AE's Code of Conduct )

  3. Please only post links to sites that are in English ( or have a partial English content)

  4. Please do not posts links to Wikipedia entries or to other history discussion forums.

Here is an example:

http://chnm.gmu.edu/revolution/ - Liberty, Equality, Fraternite , a large and well designed website about the French Revolution, with essays on its causes and course, original documents, maps, images and songs etc.

Further suggestions to the project are more than welcome!

I know that Komnenos is dead and buried upon this site, but I just wished to throw another dart into his body, due to his pure hatred of Wikipedia!

His remark above is beyond stupid!
