Herodotus wrote that he committed to memory the names of all 300 Spartans who remained, "because they deserve to be remembered."

Are these names still remembered?

I know there was a monument with all of their names that was destroyed around 700AD

but were there other monuments or records?

Thanks in advance

Please add the prefix ber- to all
adjectives used by me. Thank you.

I'm not aware if their names are recorded somewhere. However, Herodotus menions some, in his part of Histories on Thermopylae:

The basis of a democratic state is liberty. Aristotle, Politics

Those that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin
