Topic: Leading Mafia in the World in 2050? Posted: 30-Oct-2005 at 07:26 |

When they finally arise they will override easily all the others. They are already starting. |

Mafia isn't just about poverty Maju {though the most famous mafia in the entire world arose from Sicily}.

N mafia isn't certainly about enriching or empowering people.

You forgot the Armenian Mafia. In newspapers in Los Angeles, they said
the amount of gang activity the Armenian mafia has in Los Angeles is
comparable to 1930's Chicago. Also, the Armenian Republic is ran by the
mafia to some degree.

Hmmm...... One important mafia seems to have been left off the list.
It's huge, branches in most countries in the world.
Virtually immunity from prosecution in most countries it operates.
Extorts money in ways other mafias haven't yet dreamt of.
Works in all the most lucrative mafia areas, drugs, gun smuggling, extortion.
Once you're in, you're in for life.
Positively ancient, been around for millenia and growing in number.
Doesn't need to launder money, has it's own banks.
The Vatican mafia, truly the most powerful of all.

In my city, at least in some districts, street drug traffic is mostly a
question of Black African networks. Their bosses are usually white by
the moment, but that will change with time.
If you walk down San Francisco street all you see are African guys on
both sides of the street and they are just selling and watching for the
case the police comes. They even get arrested on petty misdeamanors to
get heroin in jail whith themselves (that's another bussiness). They
are still in low levels but leave them enough time and they will beat
out other mafias. You'll see.

Come to think of it, the Vatican is fully equiped to be a mafia organization. It virtually owns Latin America, virtually owning its drug plantations as well. It has its strongmen in Europe as well.

According to "Finnancial Times" Russian mafia subdued all major criminal organisations in Europe (including Italian mafia) except for Poland. In the article iv read in FT the author stated Russian mafia became world wide organisation and has monay which are far behind the range of any other criminal organisations. Right now russian mafia have also influence in China, USA and Japan.
I was astonished when iv read in this english newspaper that only polish mafia resisted the attempts of russian mafia to dominate it. Looks like Russian gangsters who were coming to Poland were dissapearing and finally they gave up.

Well I dont know how theyre doing now but the Columbians in the Escobar-Era were certainly top dog. Pablo Escobar even openly made political hits on top-officials in the Columbian government and the president himself was at a disadvantage. He basically ran the country. The U.S. finally imprisoned him for something but he lived in luxury all the while and he was finally killed by the Army and D.E.A. agents. What they found was what was said to be the most technologically advanced crime syndicate in the world, employing such things as submarines and the latest military equipment in order to execute their crimes.

the russian mafia is insane, no doubts there.
but as the chinese global influence grows, their mafia probably will, too.
also, is there an india mafia? theres over a billion of them, some of them must have formed some organized crime by now.

I think what you people are forgetting is that there is no such thing
as a singular Russian Mafia or Chinese mafia, so linking a country's
influence to its 'mafia' doesn't quite work. FOr whatever reasons, some
countries are just big into the organised crime vibe, and it isn't
necessary linked to its influence (what influence does Albania have?
Nothing).
As for India, there is organised crime within the country, and probably
regionaly too. Like American mafias of old, Bollywood movies are often
a means of laundering money. Not heard much of them outside of India, i
guess the sort of Indians who migrate generaly aren't into that sort of
thing.
And now, a
news
story
Yes, you read right right, fishing mafia.
Which just goes to show how rampant organised crime is in parts of
Russia, and that inevitably has knockon effects outside Russia.

Well I dont know exactly how it works but I do know that some mafias (ie. Mexican Mafia) is basically ran from the inside(prison). I watched a doc. on Pelican Bay, its a prison in California where they have some of the most notorious crime leaders that are basically locked down 24 hours a day. Somehow these bosses were running business and ordering hits and the like......very complex system they have
