Turkoman's people that nobody care's for. read the articles..

14-16 July 1959 Kerkuk Massacre of Turkmens
Iraq, like most of the states of the Near East, is an artificial creation of the post-World War I imperialist partition of the Ottoman Empire. Under the Ottomans Iraqi Kurdistan was the vilayet (administrative division) of Mosul. Victorious Britain incorporated Mosul into a common state with the vilayets of Baghdad and Basra both to gain control of this petroleum-rich region and to give its newly created Iraqi protectorate something resembling a viable economy.

Around the oil fields of Kirkuk there developed a militant, Communist-led proletariat that was in its majority Kurdish. As Uriel Dann wrote in Iraq Under Qassem (1969): The thousands of workers at the oil installations, the majority of whom were Kurds, had nurtured a local communist branch with a fighting record unrivalled in Iraq. However, this Kurdish working class was recruited directly from the agrarian and nomadic mountain people who were (and still are) governed by feudal and tribal rulers and custom. Although militant, the class consciousness of this proletariat was rudimentary. As the July 1959 Kirkuk massacre demonstrated, membership in the Iraqi Communist Party, which was at best equivocal about Kurdish self-determination, did little to break Kurds from nationalism.

14-16 July 1959
Kerkuk Massacre of Turkmens

On 14 July 1959 City had been decorated with approximately 100 victory tank. That day A great preparation was made for Ceremany and Festival in the City. After the long preparations, all the people in the city, children, women and men in their national clothes was waiting for the start of the Ceremany. After the scorching weather was cooled,in the evening from 18:00 on People began to gather in street.People in their colorful national clothes were singing happily and playing national games. At 19:00 oclock Parade began.Among the people in front of Parade, aport from Mayor Maruf Berzenci and Communist official Managers there were Communist establishments and hundreds of militants such as The Forwad Youth,Peace-Loving,Revolutionist Teachers and People Resistance Organization. In the meantime Militants were prepared according to a definite plan were chanting slogans against The Turks whom was accused of being norrow minded, folscist, radical Turkist.By 19:00 first sound of the weapons was heard and the Turks were attacked. Firstly 14 July Cafes owner Osman Hıdır was killed with the first bullet,he was tied to a motorized vehicle with ropes and began to be dragged.

The only thing that the Turks wanted to do was to celebrate the 1st Anniversary of Republic,by attacking with automatics they began dispersing. Thus,Genocide continuing 3 day and 3 night went down in History called as Kerkk Massacre, began.People were in panic so the 2nd Division Commander imposed a curfew. But,then this prohibitron was understood to be declared only for the Turks. Then One of the Turkish leaders were taken their home to Kerkk barracks with order of the 2nd Division Commandership. They were judged in five minutes and executed by shooting.Army, police and civilian organizations with the members of the Communist Party co-operated and arrested hundreds of Turks. They filled the sheds with Turks and murdered them with butt and bayanets of the rifles,Turk leaders taken their homes, were killed with automatics in front of their family. And their corpse tied to motorized vehicles were dragged street by street.Ata Hayrullah and his brother Doctor Caloner İhsan Hayrullah were killed in this way. After some of Turks were arrested, they were tied to two different vehicles with ropes, pushed and thus they split into two parts. After some of thems corpse were dragged on the ground, tractors and lorry passed over their corpse.

Then the other Turk intellectuals whose names were fixed were killed in the same way.The criminals made brutal attacks. Some of the them were hanged up on the lamp posts and were left in hot weather. Some of thems eyes were gouged out.Apart from deaths, thousands of Turks had been wounded. Some of the people seeing these brutality went insane.Because of fear and some pregnant women lost their childrens.Hospitals filled with injured people. There were no space in prison so many schools were converted into prison. While these brutalities were continuing Turks shops, houses and Trade centers were looted by pillagers. Not only Turks lives, but also their possessions were in danger. Many people died martyr in Kerkk Massacre. The peoples name were these; Ata Hayrullah,İhsan Hayrullah,Kasım Nefti,Selahattin Avcı,Mehmet Avcı,Cahit Fahrettin,Osman Hıdır,Emel Muhtar Fuat,Cihat Muhtar Fuat,Cihat Muhtar Fuat,Nihat Muhtar Fuat,Nurettin Aziz,Abdullah Bayatlı,İbrahim Ramazan,Abdlhak İsmail,Hasip Ali,Cuma Kamber,Kazım Abbas Bektaş,Şakir Zeynel,Hacı Necim,Enver Abbas,Adil Abdlhamid,Zhery İzzet aycı,Fethullah Yunus,Kemal Abdulsamed and Seyit Gani Nakip.

In the history of Humanity the event that is unigue and bloody has been heard and made a big reaction in Iraq and created a shock reaction. This genocides news heard out of Iraq took place targely in Domoscus,London,Kahire,Beyrut, was given place largely in Turk press, too. The Massacre of Kerkk made a big reaction in internal and external public opinion. For that reason,General Kasım made Speech in Mor Yusuf Church in Baghdad on 20th July.He criticized the genocide action and reproached responsible people.Than He had to inform that the criminals would be punished heavily.Besides,Kasım declared that genocide was planned on purpose and was taken responsible people to court. The news about the massacre of Kerkk began to separate in Turkey On 19 July.Returning from Switzerland to Ankara that night,Minister of Foreign Affairs Fatih Rşt Zorlu went to his office and appraised the situation. Two days later,Mr.Zorlu invited the Ankaras Ambassador of Iraq and demanded for security.Going to Ankara so as to give information about the situation,The Baghdads Ambassador of Turkey Fuat Bayramoğlu,negotiated with Mr.Zorlu.After taking necessary directions, the Ambassador returned to Baghdad and reported the message of the Prime Minister Adnan Menderes and the demands of Turkish Government.

Minister of Foreign Affairs announced a decleration to the public On 25 July 1959.The facts that almost thirty Turks in Iraq died because of the events happened in Kerkk; Turkish Government connected with the Iraq Minister of Foreign Affairs by means of the Ambassador of Baghdad;meanwhile the Iraqs Ambassador of Ankara accepted by the Turkeys Minister of Foreign Affairs said the same things and gave the pramise of security; and the action which is against the constitution of United Nations and is condemned by them must be stopped and prevented from occuring again,as explained by the Iraq Government are all stated in this declaration.

Posted a few news clipings on the turkoman matter in the WW3 post.. seems to me that history will repeat itself until something is done about it.. Genocide, deaths.. blood is on the hands of the so called innocents, interesting how often is the opposing argument is argued and or tried to be accepted in the EU and countries that have accepted the so called genocide of the ottomans.

Turkoman Political Structure:

Turkomans living in Iraq have not only been deprived of their minority rights, but have also been subjected to various oppressions. In order to wipe out Turkomans large-scale massacres have been carried out in addition to executions, banishments and displacement . One of these massacres, rarely mentioned in history books, was carried out by Armenians on May 4, 1924. After murders committed by Teyyaris, who are of Armenian origin, on August 15 1923, the government has transferred them to Kirkuk. However, these people continued with their assaults in Kirkuk which was the scene for new events.

They carried out a major massacre in this city on May 4, 1924. In the meantime, the British High Commissioner had sacked Kirkuk governor Fettah Beg and issued orders to police to arrest Hsseyin Nefti, Suleyman Dervish Beg and Hayrullah Hassan Efendi. Almost 200 were killed or injured during these events. Two years after the events British High Commissioner H. Dobs, who was then assigned to Iraq, put pressure on the Iraqi government to release prisoners who had been sentenced to various prison terms because of their roles in the events. Subsequently, the Council of Ministers pardons these convicts in a meeting held on June 29, 1926, but sends them to "May" village, north of Emadiya district, as residentiary exiles. In 1946 a second massacre took place in Gavurbaghe borough of Kirkuk. Workers employed by the petroleum company serenly started a strike to force their employers to determine working hours and increase their wages which were their universal rights. However, security forces, receiving orders from Englishmen who were disturbed by the strike, randomly shot unarmed people which left hundreds of Turks dead.

On July 14, 1959, the event known as the "Kirkuk Massacre" took place as Turkomans were preparing for the anniversary of the Republic and hundreds of Turkomans lost their lives during this massacre which continued for three days. The oppression suffered by Iraqi Turkomans were not limited to massacres. Some individuals were killed on electric chairs or by other torture methods while they were being interrogated. Selahattin Mustafa TERZI and Ibrahim Hamza KASAPOGLU, who were killed in their tailor shop on February 11, 192; Mehmet Fatih Saati, a young Turkman, who was shot down in Kirkuk on July 7, 1970; Hseyin Ali DAMERCHI, a renowned actor who was killed on an electric chair in the Kirkuk Police Department and whose body was thrown out in a solitary neighborhood of Kirkuk and Necdet Asker Mahmut, a young soldier who was taken from his home late at night and subsequently executed are only some of the examples of these murders.

These are in addition to hundreds of innocent people killed as a result of hostile attitude of the Saddam regime against Turks including Colonel Nejat SHOKRI, a Turkoman officer who was killed on February 22, 1986; and Agronomist Nizamettin ARIF who was executed in January 1970 because of his alleged involvement in a plot; General Omer Ali who was killed as a result of a planned traffic accident; Air Lieutenant Colonel Aydin Mustafa and Air First Lieutenant Ahmet Sleyman KASAPOGLU, who were arrested at the airport while they were on duty and executed in 1987; Jelil DAMERCHI who was executed in 1981; Abdullah BESIRLI who returned back from Turkey, where he received a M.S. degree in industrial engineering, to Iraq and then executed there together with his father and uncle; Mahir OKTAY, a naturalized Turkish citizen, who was arrested in Kirkuk after traveling there to visit his family and executed on February 17, 1985 and hundreds more. After 1979 the oppression on Iraqi Turkomans reached its peak point and Ass. Prof. Nejdet KOCHAK, one of the leaders of Iraqi Turkomans; Ret. Col. Abdullah ABDURRAHMAN, Chairman of Turkman Brotherhood Centre, businessman Adil SERIF were executed on January 16, 1980 and Riza DEMIRCI, one of their comrades, was executed later. Furthermore, Mehmet KORKMAZ, one of our nationalist teachers, and his comrades including Selahattin Necim Mecit, Selahattin Abdullah MUHAMMED, Izzetin Jelil TERZI, Rushdi RASHAD FETHULLAH, Hamit Rahman SULEYMAN, Mustafa Abbas MUHAMMED and Muhsin Ali HASSAN were executed on July 9, 1980 after they have been arrested. They were followed by Halit AKKOYUNLU on July 11, 1980 and Halit Shangol and Yashar TOZLU in February 1981 who also fell victim to inhumane polices of the Saddam regime. In Iraq even a smallest police unit can make a decision to carry out a massacre or execution. Sometimes a telephone call or a telegraph suffices to execute such decisions.

The cruelty of the Saddam regime was not confined to Iraq. On April 5, 1991 fire was opened from the Iraqi consulate in Istanbul by Kalashnikov guns and Necdet Bakkalolu and Yilmaz Sddk Haciolu, who were among a group of protesters in front of the consulate staging a silent protest, were killed and another youngman was injured. The number of Turkomans who were exccuted between the years 1980-1997 is expressed in thousouds. Oppression and inhumane policies suffered by Turkomans were not limited to deaths, but also individual and collective banishments, forced displaced and unjustified expropriation of land were also widespread. Examples include the Iraqi Revolutionary Command Council's forced migration decree no. 1391 of 20.10.1981 and decree no. 418 of 8.4.1984 relating to selling and purchasing of real property and the Kirkuk Mayor's official communique no. 4/6410 of 4.8.1991 relating to distribution of land to Arabs who were brought from south and settled in Kirkuk pursuant to the decree issued by the Iraqi Revolutionary Command Councel (For more details see the Assimilation section). the students from receiving education in Turkey and encouraged them to go to Socialist countries for education.

The Turkman Brotherhood Association, which was established in 1960, satisfied both social, cultural and political needs of the Turkman society although it was conducting its activities as a club. As a result of the aggressive attitudes of the Baas Party that began in 1977, the managers of the association were first dismissed from their offices and then arrested in 1979. This end up with their execution in 1980. The executions continued.

As a reaction to the mass executions in November 1980, the Iraqi National Democratic Turkman Organization was established in 1981. The Organisation became a member of the Iraqi National Democratic Front. The Organization set up Military Headquarters in Sinat, Northern Iraq in 1981 and in Navzang region in 1982. The Organization is the first declared political organization of Iraqi Turks. All political organizations in Iraq which came together in a meeting held in 1983 adopted for the first time the Turkman's rights and included the same in the final communique, thanks to the firm stand of the Organisation.

The Organisation suspended its activities in 1985 as a result of the change in the political conjuncture. In 1988, the Iraqi National Turkman Party (INTP) was established. However, due to oppressive, merciless and aggressive policies of the Baghdad regime, it was not until after the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait in 1991 when the party declared its existence. Thanks to the invaluable endeavours of the experienced and idealist directors of the Iraqi National Turkman Party, the world has become aware of the existence of the Turkman. INTP directors participated in the meetings that were held in Riyadh, Beirut, and London and in USA. They held discussions in the capitals of those countries that are closely concerned with the Iraqi problem, like Great Britain, USA. They succeeded at being represented equally with he Kurds at important forums like European Parliament. INTP introduced in Northern Iraq a Radio-TV station, Printing Press, Press and Publications Facilities and most importantly schools where medium of instruction is Turkish.

Additionally, INTP set up a military unit of 350 persons that would form the nucleus of the armed forces. All of them were achieved with limited budgetary means. The above-mentioned developments which led to a stable region and environment that makes Turkman activities possible encouraged many others to establish new political parties and organizations in order not to leave INTP alone at the political arena.

In October 1994, studies were initiated to establish the Turkman Front in an attempt to bring together all Turkman parties and organizations under a single roof. On 24 April 1995, it was officially made public that the Turkman Front was established.

I realy searched for the oldest source about this matter, but because the majority of sources were lefist had tendency toward lefts,I just quote the Derek Kinnane a journalist in his book "The Kurds and Kurdistan" printed by Oxford University press,1964,Chapter IX p60-61.
"In March 1959 the leftists with Qasim support organised a major rally to take place in Mosul. The military commander of the province ,Brigadier Abd Al-Wahab Shawwaf,an Arab nationalist with Egyptian support, demanded that the meeting should not be held. When Qasim insisted Shawwaf revolted. The revolt was swiftly put down and Qasim introduced a National Resistance Force to destroy the anti-Left,nationalist opposition. This militia armed by the Goverment, was licensed to massacare political opponents.
Mullah Mustafa did not take part in Mosul and Kirkuk massacares and appears to have felt Sympathetic to Shawwaf. But others, Leftist and kurds did take Part."

Qasim did not forgive this Mullah Mustafa's action and In 1960 he declared him as traitor and war of Kurdistan begun.

For general information: http://www.unpo.org/member.php?arg=27

The Turkmen represent the third most important ethnic group in Iraq after the Arabs and Kurds. Unfortunately, their true representation has always been underestimated for economical and political reasons since the creation of the Iraqi State in 1921. In reality, the Turkmen represent at least 13% of the Iraqi population. Their number is around 3 millions and their presence in Iraq dates back to the 7th century.

History

According to the most reliable references, the Turkmen can trace their ethnic origin to Turkic tribes who were living in Central Asia.

The Iraqi Turkmen are the descendants of the Turkic OGUZ TRIBES who migrated in several and successive waves between the 7th and the 13th century to the west of their territories up to Anatolia and Mesopotamia where they settled. As time went on and their number increased, they achieved progress, played an important role and got high positions in the governments of the territories in which they settled, essentially in the Umayyad, the Abbasids and Buyids sovereignty. They even went on to become leaders and rulers, establishing their own states and Emirates like the Seljuk Empire in 1055 and Iraqi Seljuk state, established in 1118, followed by the Atabegs of Mosul and Erbil, the Kipchaks of Kerkuk, the Ilhanids, the Jalayirds, the Timurids, the Kara Qoyunlu and the Ak Qoyunlu states and the Safavids.

Therefore, one can say that the Turkmen history in Iraq dates back to the 7th century and that the Turkmen have largely contributed to and long times dominated the political life in Iraq during the Abassids, Seljuks, Atabegs etc.

The Turkmen established their own states and Emirates in Iraq and ruled the country from 1055. Later they made huge contributions and played important roles in Iraq during the Ottoman Empire from 1535 to 1918.

Unfortunately after First World War, and since the creation of the new Iraqi state in 1921, the Turkmen role, and their representation in Iraq have been voluntarily diminished, their important contribution to Iraqs history has been largely and voluntarily ignored and the Turkmen have suffered from a policy of assimilation and systematic marginalization which affected them hugely and caused considerable prejudices to them as a minority in Iraq.

Geography of Turkmen region in Iraq

The Turkmen of Iraq live mainly in a region called Turkmeneli, which stretches from the town of Talafar in Mosul province to the towns of Badra and Al-Aziziyya in the Al-Kut province. They are found in the following provinces in many Districts and sub-districts and hundreds of Villages: Mosul, Erbil, Kerkuk, Salah al-Din, Diyala, Kut and Baghdad.
Since many centuries the largest Turkmen population concentration is in the city of Kerkuk which is considered by the Turkmen as their capital city

Population

After World War I, Great Britain occupied Iraq and obtained a mandate from the League of Nations to govern the country. Because of the existence of important oil reserves in the Kerkuk region, which was part of the Mosul Wilaya under the Ottomans, the British, in order to grab and control the oil fields of Kerkuk, have voluntarily underestimated the number of the Turkmen in the north of Iraq by putting their number at a ridiculous 2% of the Iraqi population. This was done in order to facilitate the detachment of the Mosul Wilaya from the Ottoman Empire and later from Turkey during the Lausane Treaty negotiations in 1923.
This figure of 2% was repeated later on by the successive Iraqi governments to undermine the presence of the Turkmen in this oil-rich region.

- According to McDowell the Turkmen outnumbered other nationalities in Kerkuk province as a whole in the 1950s.
- The population of Kerkuk province was 388,939 of 6.250.00 million of the total Iraqi population.
- The population of Arabs and Christians did not exceed 20-30 thousand in Kerkuk province.
- There should have been at least 180,000 Turkmen in Kerkuk province alone
- This making up 2.9% of the total Iraqi population,
- The large populations of Turkmen in Erbil, Mosul, Diyala, al-Kut and Baghdad are not included.

Despite the fact that the January 2005 elections were rigged and that a great number of Turkmen were denied the right to vote, the number of Turkmen elected in the Iraqi National Council was 15 out of 275, which represents 5.5% of the Iraqi population, this fact alone clearly contradicts the 2% figure theory fabricated by the British and adopted by the successive Iraqi governments.

Political Situation

Iraqi Turkmen have been exposed to intensive assimilation policies, forced emigration and cultural erosion; this policy reached its peak during the Baath regime, in effect,
- Under the 1925 Constitution, the Kurds and the Turkmen had the right to use their own languages in schools, government offices and to have their own language press. But in 1933, the Iraqi authorities began closing Turkmen schools and sent activists into exile.
- In the 1973 Interim Constitution no reference was made to the Turkmen population in Iraq.
- In the 1977 census they were forbidden to register as Turkmen.
- In the 1980s dozens of Turkmen villages in Kerkuk, Mosul and Diyala provinces have been destroyed, their inhabitants were forcefully displaced and their agricultural lands and properties were confiscated
- In the 1990s the Turkmen were forced to change their nationality.
- Finally, in 1990, the existence of the Turkmen as a community was denied and the new Constitution stated that Iraqi people are Arabs and Kurds only.
- Turkmen were exposed to torture, imprisonment, displacement and deportation

Unfortunately, despite the regime change in Iraq in 2003 after the war and the occupation by the Anglo-American forces, the Turkmen tragedy continues.
Today, the Turkmen continue to be marginalized as the US helps its Kurdish allies and promotes their hegemonic ambitions to control the north of Iraq

By repeatedly bombing Turkmen cities in Mosul
- By allowing the Kurdish extremists and Kurdish militants (Pashmargas) to suppress the Turkmen identity of the Turkmen in Erbil
- By allowing the Kurdification of major Turkmen cites like Kerkuk, Daquq, Tuz Khurmatu etc....
350.000 Kurds were brought to Kerkuk city after the occupation of Iraq in 2003.
Almost all the high positions and government posts in the local governments of the Turkmen region were given to the Kurds.
- By neglecting the Turkmen political parties and by ignoring their leaders and activists in appointing only one Turkmen lady from the civil society, with no political background to the Governing Council to represent the 13% of the Iraqi Turkmen, while 5 Kurds were appointed to represent the 17% of the Iraqi Kurds.
- By appointing only one Turkmen academic without any political history in the Interim Government to represent the Turkmen community.
- By allowing and accepting all sorts of manipulations and malpractices to happen in favor of the Kurds in the Turkmen region during the last elections of 30th January 2005: only 2 voting stations were opened in TAL- AFAR a Turkmen city of 300.000 inhabitants, the majority of whom could not vote.

- By allowing the Kurdish political parties to interfere in the Turkmen affairs in order to divide the Turkmen people and limit their political influence in Iraq. This interference was clearly demonstrated in Erbil on the 24th of April 2005 where the following Iraqi Turkmen Front offices and buildings were occupied by the Barazani militants:

- Head office of the ITF in Erbil city
- Turkmeneli Television station
- Turkmeneli radio station
- Turkmeneli Printing House
- The Publication of Turkmeneli Newspaper has been stopped since then.

Demands

In view of the above stated facts and problems faced by us as a Turkmen in Iraq, I address this assembly on behalf of the Turkmen, requesting your support and asking the UN to intervene in our favor to defend our just cause with the Iraqi authorities. So that finally the 3 million Turkmen obtain full rights equal to those obtained by the Arabs and Kurds and that these rights be clearly stated in the new Iraqi Constitution.

If a federal system is accepted by the entire Iraqi nation, then the Turkmen should be given the right to govern their own federal region where they constitute the majority.
Since all the Iraqi census was designed to serve state policy and the last election was mainly to serve the occupation authorities and the Kurds, we request that the upcoming census and/or upcoming election be monitored by the UN and the international community. The Kurdish administration be prevented from interfering in the election and census processes in the Turkmen region and security should no longer be exclusively in the hands of the Kurds but should be provided by neutral police force from Central and Southern Iraq.
We demand that the Turkish language be accepted as an official language along with Arabic and Kurdish in Iraq.
We demand that the Turkmen who suffered discrimination, material, physical and psychological losses be fairly compensated.
We demand a fair representation of the Turkmen in the Commission charged with the writing of the new constitution in order to safeguard our minoritys rights.
We demand that the Kurdish militias be disbanded and disarmed and the Kurdification of Turkmen regions be stopped.

the turkomen along with the Assyrians have suffered in the hands of the unhuman kurds. The Turkomens were the forth largest minority in Iraq until 2 years ago, after the unspoken of church bombings inside Iraq.  Even today, the Turkomens and the Assyrians have very little voice inside the new iraq because of our kurdish niebors. In the Iraqi Elections that took place in the beging of the year, not one Assyrian or Turkomen Village had the chance to vote. Our ballets and freedom were stolen by the kurds.  The Assyrians and the Turkomens protested together threwout the world in almost every country, yet we were still ignored.

This is an article of ITF(Iraq Turkomen Front)A loser party , Actually a very teribble loser who sacrified the interests of Turkomans of Iraq in favour of Turkey and at the last they lost everything.Sad story of downfall of a party.

In reality, the Turkmen represent at least 13% of the Iraqi population. Their number is around 3 millions

This is a claim and nobody belives it,recent election showed it.

their presence in Iraq dates back to the 7th century.

The first mention of Oguz Tribes in Iraq dated back to 1015 who came in mosul and were repulsed by Kurds and Arabs.
The second wave came in this region with Saljuqs.

in the Umayyad, the Abbasids and Buyids sovereignty

They were Turkish slaves not Oghuz Turks and no Turks did play any role in Umayyed Dynasty.Abbasids used Turkish slaves in Times of Harun to counter balance the influence of Iranians.

They even went on to become leaders and rulers, establishing their own states and Emirates like the Seljuk Empire in 1055 and Iraqi Seljuk state, established in 1118, followed by the Atabegs of Mosul and Erbil, the Kipchaks of Kerkuk, the Ilhanids, the Jalayirds, the Timurids, the Kara Qoyunlu and the Ak Qoyunlu states and the Safavids

1)Ilkhanids were mongols not Oghuz.
2)We don't have a thing as Qibchaqs of Kirkuk (Date?)
3)Jalayerids were originally a mongol family who later Turkified
4)Teymurids were not oghuz peoples.

Therefore, one can say that the Turkmen history in Iraq dates back to the 7th century

11th century

The Turkmen established their own states and Emirates in Iraq and ruled the country from 1055.

They did not ruled country from 1055,What about independent abbasid chaliphate ,what about Ilkhanid time ,what about jalayerid and Teymurid Time?

Later they made huge contributions and played important roles in Iraq during the Ottoman Empire from 1535 to 1918.

Iran of course
and it was othmans who actually who did everything to weaken the presence of Turkomens in Iraq.

The Turkmen of Iraq live mainly in a region called Turkmeneli, which stretches from the town of Talafar in Mosul province to the towns of Badra and Al-Aziziyya in the Al-Kut province.

I hope anybody show a source about this so called "Turkemeneli" in history books.

Since many centuries the largest Turkomen population concentration is in the city of Kerkuk which is considered by the Turkmen as their capital city.

This is pure propaganda,The largest concentration of turkomans was always in Mosul city.

- The population of Kerkuk province was 388,939 of 6.250.00 million of the total Iraqi population.

In 1957 cencus and it is true. and city of Kirkuk had 89000 population.

The population of Arabs and Christians did not exceed 20-30 thousand in Kerkuk province.

LIE It waws the population Assyrians not Arabs.Arabs and Turkomens were equal and roughly to 100,000

There should have been at least 180,000 Turkmen in Kerkuk province alone

NO sorry It was the populations of Kurds not Turkomens.Refer to 1957 census of Iraq.(It was the last census of Iraq based on ethnicity)

Despite the fact that the January 2005 elections were rigged and that a great number of Turkmen were denied the right to vote.

Another lie from a loser,Actually because of heavy prpaganda by Turkomens party The turkomens achieved the biggest percentage of participants more than 90 % It means they surpassed Kurds and Shiies.

the number of Turkmen elected in the Iraqi National Council was 15 out of 275.

I thought the corect number was 13 any way more embarassing for ITF because they only achieved 2 of Them,4 joined the Kurds Party and 7 joined Shiis. It just shows that ITF between Turkomens will reach the popularity of MHP in Turkey actually very bad Model.

Under the 1925 Constitution, the Kurds and the Turkmen had the right to use their own languages in schools, government offices and to have their own language press. But in 1933, the Iraqi authorities began closing Turkmen schools and sent activists into exile.

The same for Kurds

- Finally, in 1990, the existence of the Turkmen as a community was denied and the new Constitution stated that Iraqi people are Arabs and Kurds only.

OK IRaq consists of Arabs ,Kurds, Assyrians,Turkomens,Chaldians,Armenians,Sabeans,Jews,.....

Today, the Turkmen continue to be marginalized as the US helps its Kurdish allies and promotes their hegemonic ambitions to control the north of Iraq

1)The nUmber of Kurds is not comaprable with turkomens in Iraq specially in northern cities,
2)ITF being marginalized because it zealousely defends from Turkey's interests even by sacrifying Turkomens interests while even the most radical Shiies try to avoid to say anything to have any connection with iran,Every body In Iraq wants Turkey (and any neighboring country like Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia) be far from Iraq, ITF didn't underestand this and Lost.

By repeatedly bombing Turkmen cities in Mosul

If American didn't do that ,Terrorists will bomb the city.

By allowing the Kurdish extremists and Kurdish militants (Pashmargas) to suppress the Turkmen identity of the Turkmen in Erbil

lets see how this identity is being supressed:
1)Turkomen children are forced to learn Turkomen language instead of Turkish,ITF say this is WRong.
2)Turkomens have one local Tv stations in Erbil and other Kurdish Tvs have program in Turkomen languages.
3)There are many turkomen language newspaper in Erbil
...

- By allowing the Kurdification of major Turkmen cites like Kerkuk, Daquq, Tuz Khurmatu etc....

Kirkuk is not a major Turkomen city, and until we know Turkomens were never majority in Kirkuk.(They always claimed that the censuses are wrong and mnipulated)And coming back of those who have been exiled is not Kurdification.
Tuz Khurmatu is kurdish majority city,(because the name is Turkish ,this does not mean that the city is Turkish) second nation are Arabs.
I don't know about Daquq condition, but I will find it.

350.000 Kurds were brought to Kerkuk city after the occupation of Iraq in 2003

Another stupid claim??350000, my heavens ok these 350000 needs water, home, food and schools,...The real number is 40000 (4 zero) who majority of them live in a very bad condition and many of them returned back to Irbil.
The number of Kurds who have been exiled by Iraqi goverment have been identified (Iraqis always keep their archives) and actually many of them or live abroad or have a good life in other cities of Kurdistan, but some of them will come back to their original home and nobody can prevent them, not Arab terrorists ,not Loser ITF , Not Turkey and not all of the Arab countries they will come back to their home, and no resistance is possible.

Almost all the high positions and government posts in the local governments of the Turkmen region were given to the Kurds.

1)I don't know what does the writer mean by saying Turkomen region.
2)In Kurdistan surely the majority of posts are in the hands of Kurds simply because they are majority,on the other hand Turkomens have (with regard to their numbers) many important posts.
3)In kirkuk ,Turkomens condition is not worse than Kurds and actually the posts have been divided beween the four ethnic group Assyrians ,Arabs, Kurds and Turkomens.

By neglecting the Turkmen political parties and by ignoring their leaders and activists

It means ITF,ITF is considered a BAD Party because it supports Turkey even by sacrifying tukomen people interests, Every body is against them,Kurds Shiis and Sunnies and now recent election shows that they only won 15% of Turkomens population, very upsetting for them.

in appointing only one Turkmen lady from the civil society, with no political background to the Governing Council to represent the 13% of the Iraqi Turkmen, while 5 Kurds were appointed to represent the 17% of the Iraqi Kurds.

Ok Shiies are 60% of Iraq, Sunnies are 20 % Iraq, Kurds are 17 % of Iraq and Turkomens are 13% of Iraq population and still assyrian claims that their numbers are not lower than turkomes and.....
Something here is wrong!!!!

By appointing only one Turkmen academic without any political history in the Interim Government to represent the Turkmen community.

Jassim Mohammed Jafar  minister of  housing  is a very respected man in Iraq and has both political and scientific backgroud in Iraq ,While ITF members many times declared that they want Turkey to seize northern Iraq,That is why nobody trust them.
This is his background
Minister of housing: Jassim Mohammed Jafar. Born in a town south of Tikrit called Tuzkhurmatu, Jafar, a Turkman, holds a degree in civil engineering from Salahaddin University and is founder of the Turkmen Islamic Union, one of Iraq_s leading Turkmen political organizations. After being sentenced to death for anti-Baath Party activities in 1981, he fled to Kurdistan.
now one tell me which one if the founders or leaders of ITF never was a member of Ba'aTh party?and How it formed and when?

By allowing and accepting all sorts of manipulations and malpractices to happen in favor of the Kurds in the Turkmen region during the last elections of 30th January 2005: only 2 voting stations were opened in TAL- AFAR a Turkmen city of 300.000 inhabitants, the majority of whom could not vote.

1)In kurdistan there ws no shortage of voting stations (although central goverment do every thing to limit their numbers), In kurdish area that were outside of Kurdistan like Kirkuk,Tuz khommatu ,Khaniqeyn,...and easern part of Mosul city Kurds did everything that election took place peacefully and that is why nothing happened in those area, excepth Sheykhan and Sanjar whose populations are mostly assyrians and Kurds ,But in there Arab nationalists succeeded to limit the the number of stations and although there was many protests but nobody hear it.
2)TAL- AFAR does not have 300000 population ,It has 120000 populaion ,and arabs and Assyrians are majority there, and it was outside the Iraqi kurditan and under direct rule of "neutral" arabs.
3)In Ninawa province (one of the strongholds of sunni arabs) many cheatings have occured, because while sunni arabs bycotted the voting,They did not want Others specially Kurds win the posts in the province.Except Mosul city which Kurds peshmargas helped Iraqi forces and Americans, other parts were out of their conrol and unfortunately Arab nationalists do everything to ruin the voting process there they specially prevented the ballot-boxes to go to kurdish and assyrian populated parts .What was the consequence: Turkomens votes for Kurds and Kurds won the voting.Realy terrible comedy for Arabs and ITF.

- By allowing the Kurdish political parties to interfere in the Turkmen affairs in order to divide the Turkmen people and limit their political influence in Iraq.

It means that Why Kurds could divide Turkomens and grab Turkomens votes and bringing many Turkomens Parties into their own club, one of the reasons was:
1)ITF instead of defending of Right of Turkomen nation always wanted to flame a war with Kurds and serve Turkey's Policy, While Kurds by giving them the freedom they longed for centuries, and defending from their rights in Central Goverments could lure more votes than ITF.
2)Until now still ITF didn't define an independent policy which try to solve the Turkomens problems,Hlaf or maybe more than two-Thirds of their interests is that :Kurds must not form an Federal state in Iraq. This is surely in accordance of Turkey's goverment policy  but What is opinion of Turkomens in Iraq? I think recent elections showed everything.

Head office of the ITF in Erbil city
- Turkmeneli Television station
- Turkmeneli radio station
- Turkmeneli Printing House
- The Publication of Turkmeneli Newspaper has been stopped since then

1)This completely shows how kurds are suppresive, turkomans have Television station, radio station,Printing House and Mewspaper
2)Turkmeneli (ITF News paper, because central goverment didn't let them to print it in kirkuk and mosul) was closed by command of central Iraqi Goverment, beause It publishes the materials that they think provoke racial hatred, but there are many turkoman news paper in Iraq Kurdistan.

Demands

""This is my concepthion"
"Joining to Turkey and killing or exiling all of these hatred kurds from Turkish lands""
""Officilizing the Turkish instead of Tukoman language ,"" this is real.

If a federal system is accepted by the entire Iraqi nation, then the Turkmen should be given the right to govern their own federal region where they constitute the majority.

OK very good but unfortunately we don't have any region that turkomens ae majority there (thanks to othmans actually) except some villages and usually villages won't form a federal goverment.
the border of current federal goerment of Kurds are accepted in 1970,1959,and 1925 excepth Maxmur that is still out of adminisration of Kurds,Do Turkomens have any protcols that shows the lands of"turkomenli"

Since all the Iraqi census was designed to serve state policy and the last election was mainly to serve the occupation authorities and the Kurds

because ITF achieved a very humilating defeat

The Kurdish administration be prevented from interfering in the election and census processes in the Turkmen region and security should no longer be exclusively in the hands of the Kurds but should be provided by neutral police force from Central and Southern Iraq.

1)we don't have a Turkomen region
2)Kurds must have and will have to monitor the ballots in those area that Kurds are living.
3)may be turkish army can help them, speially Buzkurts and Ulkusjues, every body knows Armies of Central and Southern part of Iraq are not neutral.

We demand that the Turkish language be accepted as an official language along with Arabic and Kurdish in Iraq.

Along with assyrian and Armenian and and Mandaeans and Chaledians and Hebrew and English and Esperanto,.....

We demand that the Turkmen who suffered discrimination, material, physical and psychological losses be fairly compensated

This is what Kurdish parties and Some Shiies  are trying but there are many hands that prevent this.

We demand a fair representation of the Turkmen in the Commission charged with the writing of the new constitution in order to safeguard our minoritys rights.

That's why the majority of Turkomens joined the kurds and Shiies ,because it was the only way to show thier sound

We demand that the Kurdish militias be disbanded and disarmed

nice dreams, half of them are being absorbed by army and some of them will form local polices and naional guards.

and the Kurdification of Turkmen regions be stopped

There is no kurrdification of any region in iraq.

Now Lets look at this long Article:
How many Turkomens were killed by Kurds and How many by Arabs?Turkomens have radio ,television ,news papers and periodicals in Kurdistan,(and they didn't have any of these except one or two bilingual newswpaer in Mosul which the  biggest Turkomen population live there.)
all of turkomens in Iraq Kursdistan are obliged to learn Turkomen language while in Kirkuk the only school that was opened by ITF  in Turkish and in other part of Iraq there is no Turkoman school or even course, majority of Turkomen youthes in Baghdad or Tikrit didn't know to speak Turkoman language.
So why ITF is so Anti Kurd? This is an answer that ITF couldn't response and we saw its consequences,Next election will take place in the end of this year and if ITF wants to continue this policy,I think its popularity between Turkomens became lower than MHP in Turkey.Until USA is in IRaq no other country can play a significant role in Iraq and It is until the time that Arabs again gain power at that Time it is too late for anybody because History showed that Arabs never forget anything(except the things that want to forget) and that time is too late for everybody else,Thats why Turkomens chrisitans and communists all support the kurds,In Iraq there is a four side chess between USA, PanArabism ,Islamism and All of other forces which between them kurds are more powerful. This is Iraq.

The Turkomens were the forth largest minority in Iraq until 2 years ago.

I said before,Now we have: 60% Shiies,20% Sunnies,17% Kurds,13% Turkomens and lets say 15% Assyrian,well my math sucks here!!!

after the unspoken of church bombings inside Iraq

1)These church Bombings were not in Iraq kurdistan, they were in Arab poulated Area.
2)No don't afraid, number of assyrian didn't decrease dramatically, most of them want to northern Part of Country which Imperialists named Iraq Kurdistan.

Even today, the Turkomens and the Assyrians have very little voice inside the new iraq because of our kurdish niebors.

1)Is it jealousy?Kurds must have voice ,they have paid for this voice hundreds thousands of deaths, bear the genocide, Anfal, Chemical Bombing and 200 years war with Othmans Britishes and Iraq Goverment,Ofcourse they have voice and actually it is very loud.
2)Who prevent Assyrians from speaking?Don't the have a tv station in Irbil? don't they have radio stations in Irbil? and so many assyrian nespaper? and one more question? If you live in Iraq(which I have doubt ,because Assyrians in Iraq are too sensitive towards their relationship with kurds) you know that the intelligence agency of KDP is in the hands Of Assyrians and that is why it is considered as impregnable.

In the Iraqi Elections that took place in the beging of the year, not one Assyrian or Turkomen Village had the chance to vote.

Again wrong information,I told that In Ninawa province It was Central goverments and Arab nationalists who prevent to distribute the enough ballots across the province, on the other hand in Kurdish ruled area all of Assyrians took part in elections, you are not in Iraq but ask and see what was condition In ShaqlAweh? What was in Dihuk? In Erbil? In Zaxo?

"Husyar" like you see my article isnt from any racist site.

The turkoman population of iraq should be about 5-7% not more.(1.2 mil) And their population in Iran with the Azeri's is about 26% (18 mil) = approximately 20 mil people

Kurdish population is 4.8 mil Iran, 6.1 mil Iraq, 1.4 mil Syria = approximately 12.3 million.

Im not even putting Turkey or Azerbaycan or other countries in.. So "Oguzoglu" check the details of that UNPO site.. and "Hushyar" delete those racist arguments if dont want this to turn into a flame war..
