The following link provides an interesting and full report with information and many photos about the use by the major military powers of helicopters during Second World War, undoubtedly, a rare theme and little explored in topics. The article can be viewed by visiting the link below:

Yeah, P-14, while technically, helicopters are 'rotorcraft', not all rotorcraft are helos..

I do recall seeing the WW2 movie 'Where Eagles Dare' - when I was a kid, & wondering then - if the featured helo was an anachronistic ploy..  this is back when US Huey ops in the 'Nam - featured on the nightly news..

Bell 47. Proto was the Bell 30. US Mil version was the H-13 'Sioux'.

see: http://www.airliners.net/aircraft-data/stats.main?id=70

They were long gone when I was riding 'birds'.

Thanks alot to the original sharer of this post,I do know that helicopters were used in World War II but I was only aware of the German side of the story. But at the end they were just at the pioneering stage that paved the way for the  helicopters later become a regular part of modern armies..!
History engages in a complex product engineering process, where humans are shaped as they learn and punished if not.
