Sun bing is a military leader of the state of Qi. It is said he first went to the state of Wei for a post. However the state of Wei already have Pan Juan(who was a classmate of Sun Bing learning from the same teacher.) as grand general. Pan Juan was jealous of Sun Bing and told the king of Wei to cut off sun bing's knee cap. Sun Bing was not able to walk again. Sun Bing however escaped to the state of Qi and became the military leader(jun shi). He would direct Qi into victoripus campain against Wei and make Qi the dominat power in the central plane for a short time.

War between QI and WEI:

during 354 b.c. ZHAO invades the weak state of Wei to expand its power, the state of Wei was protected by the mega state of WEI. WEI started to attack ZHAO, and ZHAO ask the help of QI. QI wanted ZhAO to fight WEI first and after WEI is weakened it will defeat it.

Sun bing was the strategist directing this campain. Since he can't walk from the damage. Tien Ji was the general. Sun bing planned to attack the wei capital da liang. This made the Wei force under Pan Juan to withdraw from zhao to protect da liang. (this strategy is known as wei Wei Jui Zhao) or surround Wei to protect Zhao. A military strategy similar to the ones romans used on hannibal by attacking carthage to force hannibal withdrawing from rome. Thats the first battle between Qi and Wei. Although Qi is victorious Wei is still a tough power. Pan Juan attacked the state of Han. Sun bing first waited until both Wei and Han is exhausted than he used the same tactic again and attacked Da Liang(capital of wei) and force Pan Juan to withdraw from Han. In the battle that followed 100,000 Wei troops perished. Pan Juan was killed(suicide) and the crown prince Shen of state of Wei is captured. Wei never recovered from this battle and this led to the advancement of qin in the west. Its quite possible wihought Sun Bing. Qin would not have united china. Maybe it would be Wei that does.(or not )

Other than these, some people in the past said sun bing was the legendary Sun Zi. However a excavation found in 1972 found that during the time of Sun Bing. There was Sun Zi's art of war(Sun zi bing fa.) And at the same time uncovered Sun Bing's own art of war(Sun Bing bing fa). Therefore Sun Bing is most likely not Sun Zi.

Sun Bin is Sun Tsu's grand-son, not supposedly related...they are.
