They are still around, but not like they had been 7-8 years ago. The first year they showed up, there were hundreds trying to shelter from the cold.
This year so far I've only had to flush 5-6.

Has anyone else had the "stink bug" infestation problem?

Never saw one until I moved to Ohio a little over 2 years ago. When we first moved up here, we lived in a townhouse and they were everywhere. We bought a house a little over a year ago and they haven't been as bad. We still see them from time to time, but it's not that many.

There a pest but not in my region. And as I live out during all seasons a lot..when the CD...isnt biting my ass...they no real prob.

They do not do well in the open, in the wadis, when it's 105 f in the shade. They do not do well in the open, when it's - 40 and the CF is -60.

The same combination of repellant that will eliminate bedbugs I have found is highly effective. And bedbugs, while I have no problem, is worse than any gawdamn thing ya can imagine when it comes to bugs.

Most of 11\12 I helped a pard, who owned a motel, down in Aztec...fighting them foikers.

We got em.

But the cost was high.....6500 plus in heater elimination and then cedar oil.

Oh and lots of beer....I was still drinking then.

You only see the little buggers when it starts to get cold. They come in to shelter from the cold.

It then becomes impractical for the open the window and doors all day solution often used in western Europe, at this time of the year. Given NJ propensity for cold and wet winters..especially the last two.

Go down to the hardware store and purchase a gallon of pure cedar oil..cost will vary. Online it might be slightly less expensive. Expect it to be 125-150. Get some cheap plastic spray bottles.

Spray around the windows and doors and any other obvious entry points.

Along the wall boards where it meets carpet if any. Under furniture and the cabinets and below sink and around tubs and toilets.

It doesn't have to be heavy. If they come into contact with it they will breathe it in and die...female breeders especially.

3-5 times a week till the oil is gone. Air the house when practical.

Around the exterior base of the home seek professional assistance. Tho ya can do that yourself when the weather improves.

Bugs suck but they can be beaten....if not just delayed.

The good thing is the oil make the place smell very nice if not applied to heavily...reminded me of a cedar chest.

But as a plant and flower guy ya probably have much experience in this arena.

I sympathize.
