The Battle of Adrianople (378 AD) was surely one of the most pivotal battles in history, one that crippled the Eastern Roman Army and sowed the seeds for the rise of Alaric and the Visigoths. Yet, even to this day, we don't know for sure where the monumental clash took place.
So... earlier this year, I took a trip to northwestern Turkey and set out into the 'Thracian' countryside in search of the lost battle site...
