By the Russians. After reverse engineering it became the soviet proto TU-4.

As I recall no B-29's were ever used in combat in the ETO. Tho initial planning did propose their use from staging bases in Egypt. And one or two; I don't recall the numbers..test models... were flown to various bases in England as a disinformation ploy versus the Nazi's.

'Operation Matterhorn' saw their deployment to the PTO initially from MB's in India, FB's in China and eventually the Marianna's.
