In 1715, Princess Ulrika Eleonora of Sweden married Frederick I of Hesse-Kassel.
During the wedding her brother, King Charles XII declared: "Tonight my sister is dancing away the crown."
Please define "dancing away the crown".
Her infatuation with Frederick meant that she was paying little attention to the important political machinations that her bridegroom might have been (and indeed was) planning. She was basically enjoying herself too much, without realising that she was putting her royal power into the hands of another.
