Hello all. Very pleased to have found this site. I am always looking for more information regarding the Byzantine empire. I am.in the midst of writing a trilogy set during the reign of Basil II. The research is exhausting and sometimes I have to rely on conjecture. I am hoping to be able to pass my conjecture through the capable scrutiny of the members of this forum. Happy to be here.

Thank you. The Varangian is in reference to the historical fiction series I am writing in which the Varangians play a large part.
