Nowadays we can see that south of the Dead Sea lies a group of salty pools which I believe is said to be natural as much as the Sea itself. You can see it for yourselves in case you're not aware.

The problem is that there is this Madaba mosaic dating back to the 6th century depicting the Dead Sea without the southern salty pools that you can clearly see in the first picture. Here is the mosaic

As you can see, according to the mosaic the entire southern pools section is not even included. What could one understand by this? That the salty pools didn't exist 14 centuries ago and if that is the case, how did they come about considering that they are not artificial? I found out that there was a major combination of earthquakes and tsunamies that hit Palestine in the year 749 AD, could that explain how the pools came about?

Alternatively, could we doubt the accuracy of the mosaic in terms of depicting the topography of the land? Is it relatively reasonable that such a section of the Dead Sea be excluded when making the mosaic?

Please tell me what you think, regards.

I think this other map may shed some light on what you're after.

What a bunch of Crap!
There has never been a good connection between even Jericho and its location and the supposed locations of Sodom and Gomorrah!
It is all pure speculation and no science!

And just why does our experts seem to always ignore "Solomon's pools?"

Do any of you know of them?
