100 years ago...the great mind of ER Burroughs, first flashed it's brilliance in the pages of the All Story/Argosy Magazine..with the creation of John Carter. He has never died (much like Tarzan) and most recently is appearing in film. His story has been told in comics..tv..novels and film.

He can be attributed as one of the first of the great Sword and Fantasy (with minor elements of SciFi thrown in) hero's that influenced many authors to follow.

To a little boy...now long gone.... waiting for the 'bookmobile' out of Dalhart.... John Carter was always Christmas come early on the high and lonely lonesome.

Happy Birthday John Carter.

Hadn't seen John Carter since the early years of "Heavy Metal".
