It always does seem to have a recurring thread about it.

Will America ever learn? The best thing to do is stop interfering in the Middle East. Sooner or later the Ayatollahs, like all other tyrants, will be overthrown by their own people

I often roll my eyes at people running for the office of president. During their

campaign they attack any foreign policy of the incumbent president and make

such empty promises of "elect me and I will change things".  Once in office they

then are privy to all the information the president has and then they do the

exact same thing. Maddening! To get to be president, there are a host of large

monied powers that push them like magma to the surface and the president

keeps things 'status quo' and nothing (foreign policy) changes. We never

learn, but when a candidate suggest changes, he is instantly ridiculed as

a hack. Sad. Ouch
