I would be remiss in my duty to not post on this day. My congrats and best wishes for the past and present members of the United States Marine Corp.
On this day in 1775, Captain Samuel Nichols was commissioned as the first officer in the Corp and authorized to recruit and would then command two companies of Naval Infantry (as they were known then) in Philadelphia.
Captain, later Major, Nichols is honored as the first Commandant of the Corp. Well done Sir, well done.
To those in the Corp...God bless you and keep you well. To those who serve now at the gates of heaven...well done Marines.
Semper FI.
ps. As for Veterans day being tomorrow and I on the road; my best wishes and heartfelt respects for all Veterans past and present...active or no longer serving....goes out to them as well. As does my personal pride and feelings of comradeship with them grows every day....so does my great love for their service. God Bless you all.
To the Black Knights of my beloved 5th US Cavalry:
Loyalty and Courage
Remember your Regiment Men.
