"Saving Private Ryan" is more propaganda than this, and also worse (imo), despite being made 40 years later, with better technology available as well as far bigger outlay.
"Westerplatte" by Różewicz is quite historical, unlike many other WW2 movies - especcialy those latest American ones.
But of course it is easier to be faithful to historical details while making a movie about a rather smaller episode, than about a rather broader event.
I have never seen "Kolberg"? What is it about?
